Top 3 Fundraising Tips

We think you're One-derful!

Fundraising for Wellington Free Ambulance is all about having fun, celebrating our one-of-a-kindness, and knowing that we are all working together to ensure we raise enough to keep our services free of charge for anyone across Greater Wellington and Wairarapa.

As an essential health service, we receive the majority of our funding (approx 82%) from Government and ACC but have to raise around $7million from the community to keep our services free.

Everyone who donates and spends time raising funds for Wellington Free Ambulance is contributing to saving lives free of charge. You can do a little or a lot to raise funds for Onesie Appeal - but please know we appreciate you and are grateful for your support.

1. Tell people - ask for donations

People can only support you and Wellington Free Ambulance if you give them the opportunity! Use your networks, tell your family, friends and colleagues what you are doing and why. Ask them to support you. If you don't ask you don't get!

Social media and email can be a great way to tell people what you are doing - a range of resources you can use are here.

2. Do something fun - involve others

Host your friends to dinner and ask them to donate, or have a morning tea at work in exchange for a donation to your fundraising. Pass the virtual collection bucket around the office.

Involving others offers people the opportunity to support you and your fundraising, as well as understand the importance of what you are doing.

3. Feel good about your efforts

Everyone at Wellington Free Ambulance, and the tens of thousands of people who need our help every year, are extremely grateful for your fundraising.

Raising money is not easy, especially when times are tough and life is busy. So we want you to know that we really do value and appreciate everything you do for us. Please feel good about that and know that you really are making a difference helping to keep the FREE in Wellington Free Ambulance.
